Janie Sharp, a longtime resident in the Tahoe-Truckee area, is a Top Producer with the reputation as one of the area’s leading real estate professionals. Knowledge comes from experience – Janie has closed escrow on over a thousand properties in her real estate career and is recognized as one of the most influential figures in Tahoe-Truckee real estate. What Janie loves most about selling real estate is all of the amazing people she has had the pleasure of meeting over the years, and is grateful to now call many of them close friends. In 1980, Janie established The Sharp Team. Over the years Real Estate sales soared and in 2007 Janie brought Kristi Hood onboard as a business partner. Before transitioning full-time into real estate, Toby headed marketing for Pacific Union’s (now Compass) Lake Tahoe and Truckee offices. Prior to that, Toby spent nearly 20 years as a public relations professional in both San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. Toby’s public relations career included launching several notable Lake Tahoe and Truckee resort communities, including Old Greenwood, Gray’s Crossing, Schaffer’s Mill and the Village at Northstar.
Toby, his wife and two sons are active in the Lake Tahoe lifestyle, including skiing, hiking and camping balanced with youth sports and supporting local organizations including Achieve Tahoe, Truckee Little League, Truckee Tribe Lacrosse and Truckee Youth Soccer.

Truckee has been her home now for 30 years, primarily living within the
Tahoe Donner Association, while raising her children along with her husband, a local teacher and fly-fishing guide. Jeanne has also been very involved in Truckee’s community affairs such as the Tahoe Search and Rescue, Truckee Trails Foundation, Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation, Truckee Volleyball Foundation, and a local candidate campaign for the Nevada Board of Supervisors.

Carolyn has lived in the Truckee Tahoe area since 1999. What she loves most about real estate is developing relationships with her clients. Loyalty, integrity, and steadfast commitment are paramount to her approach. Her goal is to develop trusting and long-term relationships with clients as well other agents. Carolyn owns and manages properties in Truckee, Reno, and Maui. She is married to Seamus Gallagher of Gallagher Construction and brings an extra layer of knowledge of the construction process in the Tahoe Truckee area. Carolyn is a founding parent of Sierra Expeditionary Learning School, a popular K-8 public charter here in Truckee. In her spare time, she loves to be in nature with her 3 teenagers and her dog, Carolyn is an avid live music fan. She is an east coast native who moved to California in the early 1990’s.

After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon, Rachael fulfilled one of her lifestyle dreams and moved to Truckee. Rachael spends her free time enjoying all that the outdoors have to offer with her husband, 3 children and dogs. In addition, Rachael volunteers countless hours to various community organizations. Rachael is dedicated to the highest level of customer service and believes that good industry knowledge along with out-of-the-box thinking is what it will take to make the most of today’s Real Estate market.
My wife and I recently completed a sales transaction with Janie and her team. We sold our home on the west end of Donner Lake. We initially met Janie by way of a mail campaign notice. I called Janie and set up a meeting at our Donner Lake home.
Janie's initial sales presentation was not only impressive, but very informative. She presented information about her company and provided detailed market information on comparable sales and listings to the home we were selling. I found this information to be compelling and complete. During our initial discussion, Janie offered different contract options that ranged from a pocket listing with named potential buyers though a full MLS listing. We discussed different sale prices and compensation models before agreeing to the contract we went forward with. Of particular interest was Janie's willingness to forfeit any real estate fees in the event one of our adult children bought out home. Based on our experience buying 3 other properties on the west end of Donner Lake, we found Janie's approach to be both professional and open-minded.
Once engaged, Janie and her team immediately went to work to sell our home. She included a "call first" clause in the listing so that we controlled the flow of agents and potential buyers while we were still using our home. She included sign cards through the house that provided information as well as instructions to ensure that our home was both well represented and protected.
The sales process was swift and to the point. We signed our contract with Janie on a Thursday. This was immediately followed by an open house on the weekend. We received the offer we accepted on Sunday evening after the open house. Janie was able to secure our best price as well as a 3 month no cost rent back for us as we worked on remodeling another home on the west end.
During the escrow process, Janie introduced us to Rachael. Rachael managed the details of the escrow and close process. She made herself available to meet with the various required home inspectors, thereby saving time and effort on our part. Simply put, she is extremely professional and was well informed on all aspects, both buyer and seller side, of our deal. Even after we closed escrow and were in the rent-back period, she was always available for questions and support, including reaching out to the new owners on our behalf. A true pro in every sense of the word!
Net-net, we strongly recommend Janie and her team. Our experience was, end to end, very positive and favorable. It was truly our pleasure working with Janie and Rachael!
